Meet Reggie, the baker behind the magic.
Shuga-Me Desserts is named for my mom, Dorothy “Shuga-Me” Smith, the heart of our family and the inspiration behind everything we bake. Every recipe traces back to her kitchen.
You might have seen me on Food Network’s Halloween Wars or on WXYZ Channel 7 here in Detroit. But the real story is simpler. Every cake that leaves this shop is made from scratch, built by hand, and delivered with the same care my mom put into Sunday dinner.

How far in advance should I place my order?
For custom cakes and wedding cakes, we recommend 2 to 4 weeks. Standard cupcakes and bundt orders usually need 5 to 7 days. For weddings or large events, reach out as soon as you have a date, since our calendar books up fast, especially in spring and summer.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes, we offer local delivery throughout the Detroit Metro area for an added fee based on distance. Pickup from our Auburn Hills shop at 617 S Opdyke Rd is always free and lets you see (and taste-test) the final product.
Can you accommodate allergies or dietary needs?
We can often adjust for nut, dairy, and egg allergies with advance notice. Please mention any allergies when you request your quote so we can talk through options. Note: our kitchen is not certified allergen-free.
What flavors do you offer?
Classics like vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, and lemon, plus signature flavors like strawberry crunch, banana pudding, and seasonal specials. Have a flavor idea? Ask. We love a custom combination.
